Last week, JC Wings announced a large release of diecast model aircraft for December 2017. A total of 32 models will be released in various scales including 1/200, 1/400 and 1/500. Let’s take a look at some of the release highlights!
1/200 Scale
JC Wings has focused its December release mainly on 1/200 scale models. 16 new releases will hit the market and consist mostly of widebody aircraft. One hot item will be the United Airlines L1011-500 in the Saul Bass Livery. If you’re an Airbus A350-1000 fan, you can add a Airbus “House Livery” model to your collection. A Cargolux B747-8F featuring the “Joe Sutter-Father of the B747 Livery”, which pays tribute to the legendary Boeing engineer will also be available.

1/400 Scale
A total of 14, 1/400 scale models will be released and include everything from regional jets to widebodies. It’s been awhile since we’ve seen a JC Wings regional jet release, but in December, we’ll see an American Eagle ERJ-145 featuring the “Pink Ribbon Livery”. It will be interesting to see how this aircraft compares to GeminiJets regional jet models. Furthermore, there also seems to be a holiday theme in the air at Finnair. Two Finnair A350-900s will be released with the “Happy Holidays Livery”. One of the models will be available in the flaps down configuration, while the other will sport the flaps up configuration. We continue to see more B737 MAX-8s hitting the market, with the release of the Hainan Airlines and China Airlines B737 MAX-8 models. Meanwhile, the Alitalia B747-200 will be popular for those collectors who enjoy the classics!

1/500 Scale
JC Wings has ventured into 1/500 scale releases for the month of December. Two 1/500 scale Hawaiian A330-200s will debut featuring the “Moana” livery.
