Gemini Jets Announces August 2017 Releases

G2TRS672 Air Tran B717-200 N948AT.

Gemini Jets has announced its latest model releases for August 2017. A total of 9 1:400 scale and 7 1:200 scale models will debut in this month’s lineup. Two 1:200 scale models, an Air Tran 717-200 and Gulfstream G650 will be rolled out for the first time. In particular the G650 release marks a new milestone for Gemini as it’s the manufacturer’s first release of  a corporate jet model. For collectors looking to add the Aerospatiale Concorde to their model collection, the British Airways Concorde (G2BAW665/G-BOAF) is likely to be popular among collectors as Gemini’s previous British Airways Concorde Model (G2BAW599/G-BOAC) sold out.

Meanwhile, 1:400 scale highlights include an Air India B747-400, jetBlue ERJ-190 “Blueprint Livery” and Air Force One B747-81. The Air Force One B747-81 marks the first release of the future Air Force One model, which is currently slated to replace the existing B747-200/VC-25A.  Checkout the full list of releases below!

  1. The Alitalia 777-300 appears to not to be real life, but just fantasy at this point. Airliners.net shows no AZ 773’s in the database, and the registration EI-WLA comes up no hits. Last news I find is from March, that AZ would take 773’s in the 3rd quarter for JFK and EZE routes, but who knows at this point. I don’t buy fantasy models and would wait to see if a) AZ actually takes 773’s, and b) they have that reg.

A re-do of the Air India 744 in delivery classic colors on Gemini’s upgraded 744 mould would be preferable to the current colors, but I suppose one shouldn’t complain about any 747 being done. I have the Apollo/ Witty 744 in current AI livery which got the red a bit too dark. Will consider the Gemini.
